About me…

Stan is a Theatre Director and Maker, originally from the North East of England. He specialises in new writing and developing original musicals with actor-musicians, for audiences of all ages.

He has worked across the UK and Internationally, for companies such as: Northern Stage, The Lowry, National Youth Theatre of Great Britain, Live Theatre, Gala Theatre, Theatre Hullabaloo, Soundwave Collective in the Netherlands, and the Divadlo Inspirace in Prague.

From 2013-2023 he was Co-Artistic Director of The Letter Room, a national touring company making original musicals. He was an Associate Artist at The Lowry from 2021 to 2025.

From 2025-26, he was Resident Artist at Company Three.

He’s passionate about creating work with and for young people. He has over ten year experience as a facilitator, working with a range of community groups of all ages, at organisations including: Northern Stage, Sunderland Empire, National Youth Theatre, The Royal Shakespeare Company, Mortal Fools and Leeds Conservatoire.
